SWIIS will be holding interviews in Kingston, Jamaica from 28th July to 4th August looking for suitably qualifed Social Workers for Children & Families posts for the London Borough of Croydon. Successful candidates will be offered a full-time post, Sponsored to work in the UK and have a Relocation Allowance to assist with the move.
THE LOCATIONS: Croydon is in South London, 15 minutes from Gatwick. London is a vibrant diverse capital city that offers a myriad of opportunities. Served by five airports travel to and from the region is easy.
THE ROLES: The vacancies are across the Children & Families Department for Children & Families Social Workers in the Duty, Youth Support, Looked After Children and Family Support Teams. Both short-term and long-term work is available within these teams and all posts will include carrying a manageable case load.
THE REQUIREMENTS: You will need to hold a minimum of Bachelors or Masters in Social Work or both. You should have knowledge of theory and practice of child care planning and family support. You must have an ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with children and their carers in order to facilitate working relationships. You will need to demonstrate knowledge of child protection issues in relation to a working a multi-cultural community. You will need to demonstrate the ability to work directly with children and their families. You must have an understanding of the rights of the clients and a willingness to promote those rights with a particular regard to equality of opportunity. You will need to show the ability to keep work records, to plan, manage and prioritise work. You will need to make a minimum committment of two years to the UK.
THE REWARDS:Candidates will be supported to attend interview, have their GSCC paid for, benefit from a £26 – 34,000 salary for newer graduates and more for experienced staff. A Relocation Allowance of £2,000 additionally to this to pay for flights, shipping, and setting up home and is available for other relocation costs.

The Job - Direct Practice Social Work in a Children Team. You will be expected to carry out Assessments and if appropriate, manage Case Plans, for suspected or At-Risk Children.
