The Commission for Social Care Inspection inspect and report on care services and councils in England & Wales. They are an independent organisation but set up by Government to improve social care and stamp out bad practice

The new Ofsted – the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills – came into being on 1 April 2007.
